Because I’m a nurse and a quilter, I had to join the nation in the face mask craze. We are so lucky to have OSHA approved medical masks still in Idaho. But many nurses across the country aren’t as fortunate. Idaho is not in the thick of it yet. But it’s coming. In preparation, I decided to make masks for all my cute nursing friends first.
As you can imagine, it’s a bit stressful being a nurse right now. I saw a meme the other day that said, “What does it feel like to be a nurse right now? Remember the titanic when the band kept playing on. That about sums it up.” I couldn’t agree more!
I am blessed to have amazing nurses in my life and I wanted them covered first because they aren’t just “nurses” to me. They are amazing friends that are like family. Some of which I have worked with for over 25 years.
Our emotional health is just as important as our physical health. I wanted my masks to have a positive uplifting reminder on them. So I decided to add the words FAITH, HOPE, COURAGE, and UNITY. Because we all need a little more of that right now! So here is my version of a face mask/face mask cover. I sewed the words using a machine but your message could also be done by hand.
